The Ending Of ‘Parasite’ Explained | Pop Culture Decoded

Does this comment section ever end?
I made a discovery too guys, it’s a brilliant movie.
Why would the Parks put their employee’s lives before the lives of their kids????? I hate this “rich people bad, poor people good” mentality!
좋은 영화 만들어주셔서 마음속 깊이 감사 드립니다
돌아가신 저희 아버지를 닮았네요
Climate change, derrrrr. Lame.
Just watched this movie and that was 2 hours of my life I’ll never get back.
This movie was a class warfare masterpiece.
Really amazing movie but a few plot threads left unanswered kinda bothered me, the daughter carrying Kevin to the hospital and not showing up or heard from post that scene is weird, like ,did she not have anything to say?
Remember at one scene the Kim/Kevin was laying on the grass in Sunlight and saying that the sunlight is so better here.
Because we can see their own basement house has very low sunlight reaching.
The most liked comment section ever.
Rich people bad, poor people victims 🙄
Why did Kim kill Park?
The foreshadowing of the rain is a massive stretch lol…
I think it’s also very interesting that in the beginning- when Jessica is sitting down with Mrs. Parks after meeting her son, she dismisses the original housekeeper. Seconds after she walks away and is no longer in the scene, the lit up basement hallway suddenly goes dark.
And later on, when the Kim family is pigging out in the Parks living room, huge strikes of lightening flash light over the scene and seconds later, the former house keeper is back ringing the door.
I love the play on light in this movie. It’s extremely important in so many ways.
This movie looks like it sucks.
Please don’t overlook the fact that at the end of the film, Mr. Kim ist simply a murderer.
The fact that Park get disgusted with the blood of the dead and within a minute he gets stabbed and the same red blood flows with the smell and flies.
When the poor father killed the rich man, according to me it also shows how a parasite about to loose itself kills the Host whom he leached
Why do people not address that the family is an opportunistic parasite. Instead of them capitalizing on the opportunity they abuse of the trust of the family.
Why there are so many intellectuals in the comment section 😭 ?
One of the best detail is when Mrs kim say if Mr Park arrives you will run like a cockroach after that we see in the night mister kim hudes under the table and after that crawl like the cockroach and in the hide hides in basement
Are people’s minds somehow twisted? Did I miss something? How is the Kim father received as some sort of hero figure? That is the most insane thing ever. He did not only get honest working people fired and lived off of other people’s money. No no no. He literally KILLED the man that was nothing but nice and respectful towards him. If you cannot handle that people notice you reek of radish, you do not kill them. You go shower. The Kim father is not a hero. Far from it. How is he made out to be the victim? Have we lost our minds?
“The violence of capitalism” 🙄
Voluntary exchange of property and services.
It is a brief scene but Mr Park’s company seems to be a tech company developing VR interfaces. He is literally designing reality for others
I need to know how Jessica tamed that little boy so well. She took that to her grave.
When the Kim family is left alone in Parks’ house, Ki-Jung takes a bubble bath and watches the TV, but during the flood she gets poured back in sewage
This is the most friendly and insightful comment thread I’ve seen on this site. Am I really on YouTube??
Sounds like bad city planning to me
Weakness is dark and wealthyness is light, the tittle shows the 2 rich family members with a white bar laying down however the 2 workers are standing around helping out
I love Korean films I love Korean dramas, and I married into a Korean family for 5 years I love the culture but I should have known the first thing I saw was Jane Fonda and then the environmental crap started, just look how it gutted out Europe all the males have been neutered and feminized & they’re all suffocated over there, it’s all about control control of the people and just like lemmings they’re all jumping off the cliff of environmentalism rank and file, wonderful film but why ruin it with Jane Fondas warped liberal ideology.😊❤
Yeah this is the best video i’ve seen about this movie!!
Peak comment section
Parasite is one of the most detailed thought out movies ive ever watched. The deep meanings and the links between different parts of the movie just heightens of what a movie should be like, a reality check
I don’t get why the dad stabbed the other dad. Why?
one of the greatests movies from the 2010’s, and it’s a movie about how capitalism is the root of evilness and despair in the world
6:03 I interpreted this as if he was going to use it to bludgeon them, but maybe your peace offering interpretation makes more sense, since he could have chosen a much better weapon.
Ok my contribution to the amazing comment section In the beggining of the movie when the son goes to tutor the parks son he looks at the picture and says it is metaphorical it itself was a symbol that the movie is all of a metaphor.
This film hits you like poverty.
My faveouite part of the movie is when the dad ends up as the prisoner in the basement
Y’all are delusional
The basement dwellers occupied the house they didn’t own it, like Indians.
“ did you remember ” “anyone noticed ” – noo! But thankyou y’all, you all must be a detective or something ✓
I love how it references America as a colonizer when there isn’t a single country (South Korea included) that hasn’t colonized 😂😭
I love the subtle theme of people being in higher positions of society lacking necessary qualities for the role they’re in.
When the brother wakes up in the hospital, he’s greeting by “a doctor who looks nothing like a doctor” and a “detective who looks nothing like a detective”. Mrs. Park herself is a housewife of a wealthy family, but her own husband says she’s bad at cooking and cleaning. Even the detectives at the end of the film tire themselves out trying to follow the Kims and have no clue how to find the fugitive father
What happened to da hye’s someone tell me please
an another reassurance is(kim says that plan never work as same (kim sons plan to get rich and save him is a plan he makes and its not going to work.
Excellent analysis!
lighting up a cigarette in toilet suggests as everything is messed up, she finds refuge in retreating for a momentary respite.
How director can justify park being killed by Kim😢
