Social interaction can definitely make or break a person and the two protagonists in this story are essentially misunderstood by society which leads them to be broken in terms of “normalcy.” But the question begs, what degree of normal is enough to conclude that someone isn’t normal? I love how this film explores what a romantic relationship can be and how it brings two very outcasted individuals into that realm of “normalcy” they have been denied their whole lives.

Actually I come here to find the reaction of people after watching the movie. This movie is something else,,in fact all of Lee Chang Dong’s work are pretty hard to deal with emotionally.

Moon So-ri was AMAZING in this film – Both main actors actually. One to remember.

And Gongju is wondering about the world outside her house and love, and she wants to work. But her family members leave her alone in the old apartment. All she can do is waiting for Jongdu, the one who only cares about her on the planet.
Man and woman who no one look after are drawn to each other. Jongdu cuts twigs for Gongju. That’s a best way to express his love.
But the world separates them, neglecting what really happened. I guess Jongdu and Gongju cannot meet each other forever. Gongju is gonna be scared of those twigs again. Jongdu will be alone again after serving his sentence.

Their family is heartless. People around them are ruthless. Very sad.
